But I do see that our human lifestyles harm ecosystems: We take from the Earth faster than it can replenish, and we waste faster than the Earth can absorb. Plenty of people have developed ways to profit from this situation--to manufacture and sell solar PVs, industrial wind, battery energy storage and e-vehicles. Manufacturing, operating and discarding these technologies ravage the Earth. We need discussion--respectful discussion--about how we can drastically reduce our harms to nature AND build supportive communities. Bc, ai doesnt work for money, and it doesnt need food, water, sewage, medicine, time off for pregnancy or death... like people do...yet it works...ai is the ideal slave of tyrants. Hence, UBI is the proposed solution for the expected ai take-over of the work force. What kind of world are we driving toward? If wifi is the fuel of ai, yet over-wifi-ification via smart cities is the definition of "Boil the Frog". I see a problematic conflict of interest. Over inundation of unnatural artificial frequencies from 1g2g3g4g5g6g7g will over a short time, chime the brains of humans to slowly self destruct. Therefore, solution oriented thinking must question our dependence on money, itself, as the primary driver of all people work. Imho, our evolution, our existence is literally at stake. What we accept as money has to be questioned....historically, money has evolved over time from rocks, sticks, glass, salt, pepper, pork, pelts, metals, paper, magnetic plastic cards, to present digital bits. Evolutionarily speaking, i think its time to discard it. Like training wheels on a bicycle for children, once balance is discovered, the training wheels are discarded. As I see it, manufacturing, operating and discarding electronics, appliances and vehicles requires mining, water, international shipping and energy. Manufacturing, operating and discarding generate toxins into the air, land and seas--which harms wildlife habitats and public health. When eight billion people use electricity and depend on manufactured goods, the Internet, cars and roads (etcetera), our species harms ecosystems. Many of these processes generate methane and other gases that impact our atmosphere. MEANWHILE, as a geophysicist has explained to me, the sun also impacts our atmosphere. I am not confident in my ability to write accurately about the atmosphere. But I do see that our human lifestyles harm ecosystems: We take from the Earth faster than it can replenish, and we waste faster than the Earth can absorb. Plenty of people have developed ways to profit from this situation--to manufacture and sell solar PVs, industrial wind, battery energy storage and e-vehicles. Manufacturing, operating and discarding these technologies ravage the Earth. We need discussion--respectful discussion--about how we can drastically reduce our harms to nature AND build supportive communities. I like Bill Torbert's idea: if I'm not aware that I'm part of the problem, then I can't be part of the solution. Thanks again for writing.
Oh, I agree. But those things cause pollution, not climate change. I say this as a non-scientist, but I've heard several lectures by people who ARE scientists saying this. I've read it in a number of places. So, maybe we're both right. I certainly am not a big fan of the trashing of our planet... It's so incredibly beautiful that just an empty beer can along the side of the road makes me mad.
I think that you're right about electricity being a problem... It's a HUGE problem when it is just flying around in the air all the time, because of cell phone towers and other means of electrification without taking proper and necessary steps to keep it controlled...

So yes, you're right on many levels, but just not the climate change. Right now our planet is cooling, apparently, according to the scientists I've heard; but very slowly. VERY slowly. However, pollution and EMF's and other stupid ways of rich guys getting richer... THESE are problems.
